Candlewood Suites Turlock by IHG

This is my favorite place to staycation. I always get a king room so can't comment on any other type. I love the little kitchen, it comes with everything you need to make a meal. The full sized fridge is a big plus. This last stay my bathroom had little shelves in the bathroom, I thought they were a great addition. I have stayed on every floor and found the 1st floor the quietest. The linens are typical hotel linens, I'm not a fan of the towels, they're a bit rough and shed a lot. Location is nice, Black bear diner shares a parking lot, Sonic and Wendy's are across the street, as well as Costco, Dollar tree and a chevron. Everything is walking distance of roughly 3 minutes. The staff is always great!

I stayed at this location for a little over 2 weeks on a business trip. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of the hotel. It's been my experience that the hotels closest to the highway tend to be more worn out, but this location was in pretty good shape. The room was clean and well-equipped, and the amenities were great and enough to ensure a comfortable stay. The only criticism I have is the stale air smell that is pretty common. Like most hotels these days the A/C only runs when the room is occupied. It'd be nice if more places utilized air fresheners to compensate for the lack of air circulation and reduce the stagnant air smell that can be a little overwhelming sometimes. The service was excellent. They were helpful and accommodating.

My stay here for 4 days was good I tried other hotels in the area but was not happy with the value . Good value here at candlewood

We had to stop half way through our drive, it was roughly 2:30am and we had booked the holiday inn in chowchilla (we were trying to atleast make it that far) said they didnt do check-ins after 2am but the app says overnights are okay between 12am-5am. So we called here in advance before booking this time and the lady I spoke with was absolutely so sweet and helped us get a nice, convenient room with our doggos, check out also went smooth, front desk is just so kind here <3

Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We only had one major issue with the hotel. We booked through Booking.com for our overnight stay and chose Candlewood due to the hotel being a “pet friendly” hotel and we were bringing our 2 small dogs with us. The hotel was advertised as having NO PET FEE for pets under 80lbs according to their website. We were absolutely stunned at check-in there would be an astronomical fee of $75 per pet! We showed the check-in clerk the website stating no pet fees for pets under 80lbs and she apologized, but said that’s not their policy and they charge $75 per pet. She did call her supervisor and explained our situation and told her supervisor about the website stating no fee. They were willing to charge us for one of our dogs instead of both as a “compromise.” Although we appreciated the compromise, we were still disappointed and felt we were misled by false advertising. We would appreciate a refund of $75 for being misled by the website. UPDATE: The hotel responded to my “review” and as a gesture of “goodwill” they’re going to refund the $75 pet fee we were charged when we checked-in. We are extremely appreciative and want to thank the hotel’s Guest Relations Manager!

Very nice hotel, great customer service. It even has a little store inside, they just charge it to your room. Duy, at the front desk, great dude! Best customer service, made our check in easy and he was very friendly and welcoming. He went that extra mile, most front desk receptionist wont go. Rooms are nice and clean. The room had a small kitchenette and everything we needed to make a meal. Might make this my go to when in town. Great hotel!

They are located next to the car wash (which was more than convenient) and at 5 min drive from grocery shops. Our room was really quiet. They have a kitchen, a full size refrigerator, very nice beds and pillows. Everything was amazingly clean. They do accept pets. There’s a free guest laundry and a pretty nice gym. There’s a dishwasher in the room. There’s no oven, there’s only the stovetop. There were two closets in the room. They do have a business center (a computer with the printer) in the lobby, a room with snacks and drinks (purchased separately). The reclining armchair for the reading and a sofa with a coffee table. There’s a number of home kitchen appliances available for rent. The parking is free of charge. The staff was brilliant!

Very pleased with my stay. Beds were comfortable, sheets were soft, water pressure on shower head was on point and hotel is located in a shopping center walking distance to Black Bear, Costco and a few restaurants. Staff was great also! Would highly recommend!
